Less is More

I think one of the reasons I love foundation piecing is that it gives me a way to use scraps; the whole is more than the sum of its parts.
Someone brought me a magazine with several patterns for simple hats, and wanted me to make a "Red Hat Quilt" for a gift. It was great fun, using some of my ultrasuede scraps from my quilting friend.
After I did the red and purple one, I decided to do an "Easter Hat" piece, with lovely pastels and brights, on polka dot background. Both little quilts have minimal quilting, mostly echo quilting, and were lots of fun. The embellishments added to them - feathers, buttons and beads.
